Architecture students of Lublin University of Technology, inspired by the upcoming Christmas, presented works that were created in an unusual way - in The Sims 4 game. A winter cottage where you can enjoy aromatic tea has become a competition topic.

– The main goal of the event is to integrate students. We also want to show that our faculty is not only a place to acquire knowledge, but also to have fun together and show various development opportunities - says the chairman of the Student Government of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Mateusz Krzowski.

Using The Sims 4 game in the competition turned out to be a hit. The students mention that they used it often at the beginning of their design adventure.

– When I was a teenager, I started experimenting with my own projects. I did them in this game. It gives you the opportunity to create everything from simple houses to complex structures. Thanks to this, I could practice and acquire skills, and besides, it was fun - admits Karolina Czarko from the Student Government of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture.

Nine projects were on display during the vernissage. The organizers emphasize that the works are maintained at an exceptionally high level.

– First of all, they reflect the winter climate and the atmosphere of warmth and coziness, because that was the main point. Each of the presented buildings took us to a place where we would like to spend the holidays - says the vice-dean for student affairs, Prof. Bartłomiej Kwiatkowski.

According to the jury, the students coped with the challenge brilliantly, presenting a high level of skill and creativity. Prof. Natalia Przesmycka, the chairwoman of the competition committee, emphasizes that each house has its own unique style, visible in its unconventional shape, functional communication solutions and potential to host parties. And they all have something unique about them that encourages relaxation.

As admitted by Prof. Przesmycka, the decision to choose the best project was really difficult. The distinctions went to Zofia Kuchta and Katarzyna Grzegorczyk. The winner was the house designed by Blanka Zielińska, a second-year architecture student.

– It is a real winter oasis. Everything here attracts attention - from subtly lit nooks and crannies to picturesque details that make each element conceal something unique - notes the chairwoman.

Blanka Zielińska, choosing a classic style, created a space with a large chimney, attic windows, and dormer-style decorations. Situated on a slight hill, surrounded by trees and bushes, the cottage reflects the charm of the mountain landscape. The interiors are filled with warm colors, mainly browns and beiges, with the addition of natural materials such as wood and stone. Blanka definitely focused on comfort, which is especially visible in the large living room, where dominates a green sofa.
